We are proud to announce the successful handover of our Brentford Drive development in Mackworth, delivering six high‑quality, energy‑efficient council homes for Derby City Council. The homes were officially taken into management by Derby Homes at a handover ceremony on Wednesday 16 July 2025.
This project marks another important milestone in our partnership with Derby City Council and reflects our commitment to building modern, sustainable homes that directly support local housing needs.
Delivering High‑Quality, Sustainable Homes
The Brentford Drive scheme involved the demolition of two underused properties and the construction of six brand‑new two‑bedroom homes on the site. Each property has been designed with long‑term sustainability and lower running costs in mind. All homes achieved an A‑rated Energy Performance Certificate, supported by:
- High levels of insulation
- Air Source Heat Pumps
- Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels
- Off‑road parking and EV charging points
These features will help reduce carbon emissions and keep energy bills low for the new tenants, supporting the Council’s drive for greener, more efficient housing.
Supporting Derby’s Housing Priorities
Derby, like many cities across the UK, faces increasing demand for affordable housing. As of September 2024, over 8,000 applicants were registered on the Council’s Homefinder system and actively seeking suitable homes. This development contributes directly to addressing that need by delivering modern, safe, and secure properties for families in the local community.
Councillor Shiraz Khan emphasised the importance of developments like Brentford Drive in helping the Council respond to Derby’s ongoing housing challenges and ensuring that residents have access to comfortable, future‑proof homes.

The Brentford Drive development is one of several projects we are delivering for Derby City Council as part of their wider programme of new council homebuilding.
