Client: Leicestershire County Council

Project Value: £1.4m | Location: Great Glen, Leicestershire

The remodelling of a vacant supported housing complex to provide 22 self-contained flats for adults with disabilities, allowing them to live as independently as possible in their own home.

Former bedsits and communal areas were stripped out, re-plastered and redecorated. A new communal lounge was created, along with a separate office space for use by the onsite care team. A private sleep room with ensuite shower enables staff to stay overnight.

Existing mechanical and electrical installations within the building were either upgraded or replaced. This included the re-wiring of lighting and power, and alterations to plumbing and heating systems. Externally, a new access drive was formed, additional parking bays created, a larger bin store provided, perimeter fence panels were replaced, and block paved patios relayed.
