The remodelling of a 1980’s sheltered housing complex to provide improved rental accommodation in an area of high demand.
The refurbishment programme consisted of:
- The internal strip-out and refit of 21 flats, communal laundry, and lounge areas.
- The addition of specialist accommodation to support residents with limited mobility.
- A new ground floor communal entrance, along with new doors and letter boxes for each flat.
- Refresh of external patio areas with new paving slabs, timber decking and planting.
- An upgrade to the communal fire alarm, including the installation of a sprinkler system funded in part by Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.
As flats remained occupied during the work, it was vital that our activities were programmed in a methodical, but considerate manner to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents. This was achieved by working closely with the tenant liaison team to communicate our activities throughout.
