Flowers by Stephanie offers luxury fresh flower arrangements for events, special occasions and businesses all across Leicestershire. The talented Florist is also a two-time winner of a UK wide competition to create the Christmas Wreath which adorns the world-famous black doors of No. 10 and 11 Downing Street.
Relocating from a small, town centre shop into this purposely designed studio in the grounds of the family home, has provided Stephanie with the opportunity to diversify and ultimately secure the future of her business. The project was part-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The new building replicates a traditional farm outbuilding with a pitched, dark blue tiled roof and a mix of red brick and timber boarding. Over-sailing eaves are supported by four thick oak posts to create a porched entrance.
To maximise work space for the preparation of floral displays, the ground-floor has a kitchen-style layout. There are large areas of quartz worktop with plenty of under-counter storage for tool and equipment, along with a large central island complete with a Belfast sink.
There is a separate storage room, disabled access toilet and refreshment area with an integrated coffee machine, fridge and wine cooler.
Oak stairs lead up to an open-plan first-floor. The same quartz worktop has been used to create a long workbench, with space to seat 10 people on one side, with storage on the other. The space is flooded with natural light through two large dormer windows over looking the front and rear of the workshop.
Externally, there is parking for four cars with access via a gravel driveway which extends up to the private bungalow beyond.
